About the Collection
As the events of July 13th, 2024 unfolded, the Butler County Historical Society staff and Board of Directors understood that we had a responsibility to collect stories, images, and objects relating to this historic tragedy. These materials will provide future researchers with a unique lens into the perspective of Butler County residents who experienced this event and its aftermath in real time.

We have consulted archivists, collections specialists, and universities to ensure our process will be performed to high professional standards. It has taken us almost an entire year to launch this online collecting tool because we wanted to ensure that the submission process was secure and user friendly.

We hope to hear from everyone in the community with a story to tell, not just those who attended the rally on July 13th. Our research question is simply this: how did the events of that day impact you and your lived experience as a Butler County resident?

The content submitted through this online collecting tool is part of a larger collection of digital and physical materials, "The Butler County Historical Society Collection on Local Response to the Events on July 13, 2024." In the interest of protecting individuals' privacy, access to this collection will remain restricted for 15 years from the date of donation.
