Educator and historian Bradley Pflugh has authored the only historical accounting of Butler County men who served nine-month enlistments in the 134th and 137th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiments. Although the 134th participated in many battles while the 137th never engaged in a skirmish, both regiments suffered the ravages of war, including disease and illness that took many lives.
