For more than 20 years county residents have sought a place where artifacts and memorabilia from the county's industrial and agricultural past could be exhibited. In 1994, the Society acquired a three-story commercial building in downtown Butler to do all that and more. The Heritage Center opened to the public in 1995, with a 4,500 square foot of exhibit space. The permanent collection includes an original Bantam "jeep", the Bantam Hollywood prototype convertible sports car, and displays of many of the industries of Butler's past and present.
The Heritage Center is open to the public Wednesdays 12:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. through August and Fridays 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. through August. The Heritage Center will be open for Butler's Fall Festival in September. Special group tours and events may be planned by appointment. The Heritage Center will host motor coach tours and club outings by prior arrangement. The museum is located at 119 West New Castle Street in Butler. On-street parking is available. The building is ADA accessible. Admission: $5.00 per adult, $2.00 per youth ages 5-17, and free for children under 5 and Butler County Historical Society members.
